Mr. Al Arag, while at Dewberry Engineers Inc, has worked on and contributed to the Flood Mitigation project in 2013-2014 for NYCTA.

Mr. Al Arag conducted site visits to verify the existing drainage system conditions, utility impacts, right-of-way impacts, traffic/pedestrian flow and subsurface structure conditions necessary for calculations, modeling and design for both near-term and long-term solutions to mitigate flooding of six MTA- New York City Transit (NYCT) stations in flood-prone areas for Category 2 Hurricane storm surges. Sites included were Rector Street (Broadway Line), Broad Street, Whitehall Street, Old South Ferry, Bowling Green and Rector Street (7th Avenue line). These locations required hardening to flooding in order to prevent future disruptions to subway operations.
