At his previous employment, Mr. Makki was involved in the project in 1998-2003 as part of the World Bank Technical Assistance Team in coordination with Lebanon’s Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) and Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW). The project consisted of rehabilitating and modernizing the irrigation infrastructure and public irrigation schemes at the national scale in Lebanon, which were damaged during the Lebanese Civil War. Water resources management and technical assistance was provided to the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW), Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), and Litani River Authority (LRA). Additionally, environmental guidelines and best practices for designing, constructing and managing irrigation infrastructure and public irrigation schemes were prepared. The project’s implementation cost was 70+ Million USD.
