Site Investigation, Underground Storage Tank Removal, Drywell Remediation, NYSDEC Spill Closure

Project: Pine Town Houses
Location: Long Beach, New York
Services: Site Investigation, Underground Storage Tank Removal, Drywell Remediation, NYSDEC Spill Closure

The site is approximately 307,000 square feet in area and consists of eight 2-story residential apartment buildings and surrounding parking area. Hydro Tech performed a focused Phase II Investigation to characterize the soil and groundwater quality around the USTs. During the assessment we also performed a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to determine the exact boundaries of the USTs.

The investigation identified petroleum in the soil and groundwater beneath the site. Based upon the investigation a NYSDEC spill number was assigned to the site.

Hydro Tech excavated and removed the USTs and associated petroleum contaminated soil. Hydro Tech installed  5  monitoring  wells  at the sit. Hydro Tech then monitored the wells monthly and sampled them quarterly for a 1 year period.

Based upon the work completed by Hydro Tech the NYSDEC close the open spill number and issued a No Further Action Letter.
