Jordan – Study, Design and Preparation of Tender Documents for the Construction of Zarqa Main Dam

The projects aimed to prepare a technical, economic and financial feasibility study, and preparation of detailed design and tender documents for two dams: Zarqa-Main Dam in Madaba Governorate, with a storage capacity of 2.1 mcm and dam height of approximately 55m; and Lajjoun Dam, in Karak Governorate, with a storage capacity of 1.0 mcm and dam height of approximately 25m.  The project scope comprised of identification of optimum dam locations, conducting geological and geotechnical assessment of the dam sites, preparation of a hydrological study to optimize water storage, assessment of water utilization in irrigation and calculation of benefits, preparation of technical, economical and financial feasibility, and preparation of detailed design and tender documents for the construction of the dams.
