On Thursday August 5, 2010, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced the launch of the New York City Brownfield Cleanup Program (NYC BCP), the first municipally-run brownfield cleanup program in the nation, as well as the execution of an agreement between the City of New York and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) that provides for collaboration regarding the cleanup of contaminated sites in NYC. This conference was held at one of Hydro Tech’s cleanup sites and is the first to be accepted into the Brownfield Program.
